How It Works

Four steps, start to finish

From an empty contest to a scored leaderboard. The whole thing runs on a phone, and the only thing you have to send anyone is a link.

Invite friends

You get a private link. Text it, email it, drop it in the group chat — that link is the whole invite.

Pick the Top 7

Everyone calls the seven riders they think finish up front, in order, before picks lock.

We score every pick against the real results the same night and rank the whole contest.

No credit card. No app. You can invite people after it exists.

What running a contest actually involves

Short version: you send a link and we do the scoring.

Free, and it stays free

Creating a contest costs nothing and there is no entry fee to us. If your group plays for something, that is between you — Race Day Picks never handles money.

Private by default

Every contest you create is private. It is reachable only through the link you share, so nobody stumbles into your contest from a search or a public list.

Nothing to download

It runs in a browser on any phone. Your friends do not install an app, and they do not need to set up an account before they can play.

Common questions

How does a Supercross contest work?

You predict which riders will finish in the top seven of the 450 class main event. Everyone in your contest makes their own picks before the race, and once the real results are in, every pick is scored against where that rider actually finished. The closer you were, the better you did.

Can I create a private Supercross contest?

Yes — and every contest you create is private by default. You get a private invite link, and that link is the only way in. Your contest is never listed publicly and cannot be found by searching.

How many people can join?

There is no limit. A contest works the same with three friends as it does with three hundred coworkers, and you can keep inviting people right up until picks lock for the first race.

Can we play for one race?

Yes. When you create the contest you can scope it to a single round — Anaheim 1, Daytona, your local stop, whatever race your group cares about. Picks lock before the gate drops and the contest is decided that same night.

Can we play the entire season?

Yes. A full-season contest carries scores forward from round to round, so the standings build all year and the lowest total at the end wins. If you find us mid-season you can start from the next race instead of the opener.

How are picks scored?

Golf-style: the lowest score wins. Nail a rider's exact finishing position and you get a 5-point bonus. Otherwise you score the number of positions you were off — pick a rider third and he finishes fifth, that is 2 points. A rider who does not finish or does not make the main is scored one spot behind the last finisher.

Can coworkers play?

That is one of the most common ways it gets used. An office contest works exactly the same as a contest of friends: you share one private link and everyone joins from their own phone. Nothing gets installed on a work computer.

Do players need an account?

No signup wall. A friend opens your link, enters a display name and an email address, makes their picks and they are in. A password is optional and can be added later — the email is only there so they can get back to the contest and see how they finished.

How long do picks take?

About a minute. You choose seven riders in the order you think they will finish, and you can change your mind as many times as you like until picks lock before the race.

Start your contest before the next gate drop

Create the contest now and send the link when you are ready. Nobody has to join until picks open for your first race.
